Description

This petrol rotavator/tiller is powered by a 2 HP Hecht 2-stroke engine with 52cm³ displacement. The working width is 25cm and it is equipped with 4 knives. Ideal for turning over and preparing soil to a fine till, able for planting. Improves soil nutrition, which helps plants root better, resulting in better crops and plants. Rotavating is best carried out in the spring or autumn when the ground is softer. It can be necessary to rotavate the planned area two or three times in different directions to break up the soil able for planting. Before starting, it’s best to kill all weeds with a proprietary weedkiller or rotavating may exacerbate the problem. If growing fruit or vegetables, these will have to not be planted for a couple of weeks after weed killing. PLEASE NOTE: Mini Petrol Tillers and Small Cultivators don’t seem to be suitable for breaking up hard ground and will have to only be used for cultivating and turning over able-made beds and pre-broken soil.* Making an attempt to break up hard, impacted ground with this machine can damage your gearbox or drive shaft and will be inconvenient in addition to costly. Typically speaking, according to the experts at the Royal Horticultural Society, Light soils (sandy soils) may also be turned over by a 2-5 HP machine, but heavy (clay) or impacted soils soil need more power. Rotavating wet soil is extremely damaging so do wait for drier conditions to work this soil. *NB: It is VERY important that you only attempt to break up virgin ground with a heavy-duty petrol rear tine tiller.
